Parting is such sweet sorrow

I always have mixed feelings about finishing a project. It's a bit like reading the last page of a really good book. You get a huge sense of achievement that you've finished  and also a sense of loss, at ending something that is giving you so much joy. So as I put the last DC into the border of 2011's Crochet Club from Jane Crowfoot, I felt as though I was saying goodbye to a good friend.

I learned so much about crochet and the techniques used in this design. Jane expertly encouraged me to learn new skills and I loved making each misshapen stitch. I am incredibly pleased with how it is turned.

It really is goodbye to this blanket which is a belated wedding/early 50th birthday present for one of my oldest friends who now lives in Shanghai. The house is in the art deco French Quarter-I think the throw will fit in very well don't you?

This blanket is amazing!! Check out the original source: Parting is such sweet sorrow
